- Plastic Pumpkin
- Dark Silver Glitter Nail Polish
- Duo Chrome Nail Polish
- Assorted Gems
- Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
- Emery Board
Easy Prep
To begin with, I am using an emery board to file down some of the rough edges on the stem. Sandpaper also works for this part.
Time to Paint
After filing, I am using my Duo Chrome nail polish to paint the stem of the pumpkin. I continue working on the other portions of the pumpkin while the stem dries in between coats. The stem ended up with about 3 coats of polish.
I got very excited at this point and started feverishly gluing gems down before realizing that the orange would peek through the little holes…Oops. So I popped them off.
Next, I paint the main portion of the pumpkin with the Dark Silver Glitter Polish. The specific one I used is no longer being made, but I found several comparable ones online. I chose to use the gray because it would make the gems pop.
Now Let’s Bling it Out
Lately, the Diamond Painting trend has really been taking off. I’ve tried a few, and I too am now addicted. It is so relaxing and satisfying.
I felt the same type of way while working on this pumpkin, but had the fun extra challenge of figuring out the puzzle of how the gems would best fit together.
Should I have taken more in-progress pictures? Yes.
Had I planned on it? Yes.
Did I? No.
Basically, I used a variety of gem sizes and hot glued them to the pumpkin until I ended up with this wild drippy pattern. Done. Bam.
