First, you’ll want to paint the pinecone green. All of it. I’m talking the tops and bottoms of all the little scales, the whole thing. Of course, you could also use spray paint for this part.
On the other hand, the split ball needs to be painted red and there is no need to paint the flat bottom.
Once these pieces are dry, use hot glue on the center bottom of the pinecone and push it down onto the center of the top of the split ball.
Now you have your basic, free-standing pine cone tree. From here, the options are endless. You can use buttons, sequins, paint, glitter, clay, felt, or whatever else you want to decorate your tree!
