How-to
The first thing to do is to cut out all of the vinyl pieces of your unicorn t-shirt design with your Cricut. When working with iron-on vinyl always double-check that you have the shiny side down on the mat and you have the mirror setting on so it will appear correctly when you press the design onto the surface you are using.
Sometimes, when using a fresh blade, it will cut through to the plastic sheet. When this happens, I use some heat-resistant tape to keep it in place.
First, I lay the shirt down flat on top of my Cricut Pressing Mat and heat it for about 10 seconds to get it nice and flat and free of moisture. I folded the shirt in half pressing down to create a centerline. Then repeated the step horizontally to get a center point. I used these guidelines to place the main portion of the unicorn head and the words.
I always use a Teflon sheet over my design when using the iron, it keeps everything protected. Always read the directions on your vinyl for the correct temperature and length of time. With the types of vinyl I usually use, 330-degrees F for 30 seconds works out. Then I heat up the back for about 5-15 seconds.
Depending on how the vinyl is behaving, I’ll either peel it hot or wait for it to cool some before peeling off the plastic carrier sheet.
From there I put down almost all of the detail pieces (except for the unicorn’s flower crown) and repeat the pressing and peeling process.
When that’s done, I place my crown of flowers and heat and peel that. Then, I press it once more to get everything as nice and flat as I can.

My granddaughter is obsessed with unicorns. I definitely need to make this shirt for her. I love the t-shirt color you choose as the background too.
