First, I cut off a piece of the pool noodle. The longer the piece, the more difficult it will be to get the yarn through the center.

Shape the top of the pool noodle with scissors. I cut away the outside edge to round it out. It doesn’t need to be perfectly smooth or anything since it will all be covered up in the end.

I found the easiest way to work the yarn was by cutting off more manageable lengths, I used approximately

Wrap the yarn around the pool noodle vertically tuck in any ends.

    Continue around the noodle.

To start a new piece of yarn, tuck

Press the stick piece into the center top of the pumpkin. If you’d like, it can be secured in place with hot glue. For me, it was a very snug fit so I decided to forego the glue.

You can add embellishments such as leaves, pompoms, tassels or etc.
