Supplies:
- Small Terracotta Pots
- Craft Paint
- Paintbrush
- Wire Cutters
- Scissors
- Fil-Stik
- Pipe Cleaners
- Wooden Bead
- Googly Eyes
- Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
- 2 Small & 1 Medium White pom poms
- Orange Sharpie
- Skinny Ribbon
Start by wiping down the pots so paint has a smooth clean surface to adhere to. Painting works best if done in several thin coats with time to dry in between.
You can use some wood putty or like this Fil-Stik to fill in the holes of the wood bead. Then paint it pink, craft and spray paint work fine.
Time to Decorate!
Bunny
For this bunny I used a pot painted white, pipe cleaner ears, wood bead nose, an pom pom mouth and tail.
Use your fingers or pliers to bend two ears out of a white pipe cleaner. Cut to length with wire cutters.
Use your hot glue gun to adhere all of the face parts to the pot.
Now glue that big pom pom to the back. That’s the bunnies tail.
Then you’re going to hot glue the ears to the inside of the pot.
Chick
Use your hot glue gun to adhere the googly eyes to the pot.
Use an orange sharpie or other permanent marker to draw a beak. I drew a cross shape and connected the points with two curved lines and then filling it in.
For the chick’s feet, I did not have an orange pipe cleaner. Instead, I colored a white one with an orange Sharpie. I cut two pieces of pipe cleaner that I folded in half. Then, I cut two more pieces half the length of the first ones. I glued the short ones in the centers of the folded ones. I glued them to the bottom of the pot so the little toes would stick out of the bottom.
Unicorn
Use your hot glue gun to adhere the googly eyes to the pot.
Then, using a pencil or pliers create a horn by twirling the pipe cleaner into a cone shape. Hot glue the horn above the eyes. I bent the horn so it pointed out and up.
I made a little gingham bow to glue on as well.
Look how cute they turned out!
