First, print out the teapot template on copy paper. Then, I like to separate the pieces with chunky cuts, no need for intricate cutting yet.
I apply glue all over the back of both teapot pieces and glue them to the back of the piece of cardstock.
Now I can easily follow the outline with my scissors to cut out the teapot shapes.
The handle poses a bit more of a challenge, but not one that cannot be conquered. You could leave it solid if you wanted, but I used a hobby knife to cut the inside part out.
To create the pocket I first needed to figure out how large the opening needed to be. So I traced the tea bag on one of the teapot pieces an applied glue outside of those lines. Then, pressed the two pieces together with the pretty side facing out.
Once I’ve given the glue a minute to dry I can trim any spots that may not have lined up exactly.
Time for a sweet little label. So I’ll glue this piece onto some cardstock and cut it out like I did for the teapot pieces.
Then, using one of my favorite brush pens, I fill it out in cursive.
Finally I can glue this piece onto the front of our teapot, insert the teabag and we’re ready for an envelope!
